Privacy Policy for Krypnotes

Effective and last updated: 30 July 2026

1. Privacy Summary

Krypzon provides the Krypnotes mobile application and its related public website. Krypnotes is offline-first and does not require an account. Notes, folders, tasks, reminders, and settings are stored in the app's local storage. Krypzon does not operate cloud-note storage or receive note content through normal local use.

Krypnotes does not include advertising or behavioral analytics and does not sell personal data. User-requested or supporting features—including update checks, Desktop Pairing, platform speech recognition, sharing, printing, export, and support—can communicate outside local app storage as described below.

2. Information Stored Locally

  • Notes, formatting, folders, pinned/protected state, recycle-bin state, and editing metadata.
  • Tasks, completion state, reminder dates, and local notification identifiers.
  • Appearance, security, onboarding, and terms-acceptance settings.
  • Temporary pairing credentials and state while Desktop Pairing is running.

Local information remains until you edit or delete it, permanently remove it from the Recycle Bin, clear app data, or uninstall, subject to operating-system backup and deletion behavior.

3. Protected Notes and Authentication

Protected Notes and App Protection use the operating-system authentication interface. Krypnotes receives an authentication result; Krypzon does not receive your fingerprint, face data, or device PIN. Protected Notes are access-controlled and are not separately encrypted by a Master Passphrase.

4. Backups and Exports

Encrypted .kryp backups are created on your device with the password chosen for that file. They contain active notes and folders, including protected notes, but not tasks, reminders, settings, or notes already in the Recycle Bin. Krypzon does not receive or store the password or backup. TXT, Markdown, and PDF exports are readable and are not protected by the backup password.

5. Desktop Pairing

When started by you, Krypnotes hosts a temporary local session. Non-protected notes move directly between the app and one paired browser on the same network; protected notes are excluded. Unused pairing credentials expire after five minutes. Desktop access pauses whenever the mobile device is locked or Krypnotes is not active and can resume for the already paired browser after the device is unlocked and Krypnotes is reopened. An inactive session ends after 25 minutes. Krypzon does not operate a cloud relay or receive paired note content. Use a trusted network and device and end the session when finished.

6. Speech Recognition

Dictation uses your platform's speech-recognition service. Krypzon does not receive or store audio or transcription. Processing may occur on-device or through the platform provider, depending on device, language, settings, and provider.

7. Clipboard, Files, Sharing, Printing, and Notifications

Krypnotes reads clipboard text when you invoke Paste; accesses files when you choose backup, restore, save, or export; and sends content to another app or system service when you initiate sharing or printing. Task reminders use local notification and alarm capabilities. External destinations handle copies under their own privacy practices.

8. App-Update Checks

Krypnotes may retrieve an update policy from Krypzon-hosted infrastructure. It does not include note, task, clipboard, backup, or speech content. Hosting and network providers may process routine request metadata such as IP address, request time, and protocol information for delivery, security, and operational logs.

9. Contact and Support

If you contact support, we receive the details and attachments you choose to send. The website form uses FormSubmit to deliver your submission to the Krypnotes support email. Support information is used to respond, investigate issues, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations, and retained only as reasonably needed subject to legal and provider requirements.

10. Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell personal data or share note content with advertisers or analytics providers. Device/platform providers process features such as speech, authentication, notifications, printing, and file interfaces. Destinations selected by you process shared, exported, backed-up, or support information under their own policies.

11. Deletion and Choices

You can delete app content, permanently empty notes from the Recycle Bin, end pairing, revoke permissions, delete external files, clear app data, or uninstall. Deleted tasks are removed permanently; the Recycle Bin applies only to notes. Krypnotes has no cloud account to delete. For support correspondence, contact krypnotesteam@gmail.com to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.

12. Security

We use data minimization, app-private storage, operating-system authentication, temporary pairing credentials, and on-device backup encryption. No system is completely secure; device compromise, unsafe networks, disclosed credentials, external copies, defects, or a lost backup password can expose or destroy data.

13. Children's Privacy

Krypnotes is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's information through an account or cloud-note service.

14. Policy Changes

Material changes may be presented to existing users through a versioned in-app notice. New users see the complete current terms during first-time setup. The date above identifies this version.
