Krypnotes FAQ & Help

This guide is synchronized with the current in-app help for the latest Krypnotes release.

Getting Started

What can I do with Krypnotes?

You can write formatted notes, organize them in folders, pin important notes, find text quickly, create to-do reminders, choose different themes, pair with a browser, and create password-protected backups.

How do I create and save a note?

Open Notes or a folder and tap the + button. Add a title and start writing. Krypnotes saves your work automatically and shows the save status beside Edit. Tap Save Now in the app bar whenever you want to save immediately.

What is the difference between View and Edit?

Use Edit when you want to write or format the note. Use View when you want a clean reading screen or need to copy, share, or print the finished note.

How do I search for something?

Tap Search on Notes to search all notes. To find a word inside one note, open that note and tap Search. Use the up and down arrows to move through the matches.

How do I use the To-Do list?

Open To-Do from the bottom navigation. Type a task in the box at the bottom or use the microphone. Tap a task to mark it complete, press and hold it to edit, and tap the notification icon to add a reminder. Use the dropdown below the app bar to show Active, Completed, Reminders, or All tasks. The information icon in the app bar shows a quick interaction guide.

How do I delete a task?

Swipe the task from left to right, then confirm Delete. Cancel keeps the task in place. Task deletion is permanent; the Recycle Bin is only for notes.

Privacy and Keeping Notes Safe

Do I need to create an account or stay online?

No account is required, and normal note-taking works without internet. Your notes stay on your device unless you choose an action such as browser pairing, sharing, printing, exporting, or saving a backup somewhere else.

How do I lock the entire app?

Go to Settings > Security and turn on App Protection. Krypnotes uses the lock already set up on your phone, such as your PIN, fingerprint, or face unlock.

How do I protect an individual note?

Open the note, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Protect note. Opening that note will then require your device unlock. Protected notes are grouped in the Protected folder and are not shown during Desktop Pairing.

What password should I use for a backup?

When you create a backup, choose a strong password you can remember and store safely. You need that exact password to restore the file. Krypnotes cannot recover a forgotten backup password.

What happens when I use voice typing?

Krypnotes asks your phone's speech-recognition feature to turn your voice into text. Microphone permission is requested when you use dictation. Availability and supported languages depend on your device.

Writing and Formatting

Where are the formatting tools?

Open a note in Edit mode and tap in the writing area. The formatting toolbar appears above the keyboard. Undo, Redo, Paste, Table, and the microphone stay in the first row. Swipe the second row to reach Bold, Italic, Underline, Link, lists, alignment, colors, and more. To change the editor font or text size, open the three-dot menu and choose Editor settings.

How do I paste text copied from another app?

Copy the text in the other app, return to Krypnotes, open the note in Edit mode, and place the cursor where the text should go. Tap Paste in the first toolbar row or use Paste from the text-selection menu.

How do I add a table?

In Edit mode, tap Table in the first toolbar row. Choose the table details and insert it. Tap a cell to edit it, and use the table menu when you want to add or remove rows or columns.

How do Undo and Redo work?

Tap Undo in the first toolbar row to reverse your latest editing change. Tap Redo beside it to bring the change back.

How do I use voice typing in a note?

Put the cursor in the title or note body, then tap the microphone in the center of the first toolbar row. Speak normally and tap it again when you are finished. Leaving the note also stops listening.

How do I copy, share, or print a note?

Switch the note to View mode. Copy is available directly in the app bar. Open the three-dot menu for Share note or Print or save PDF. Check the selected app, person, printer, or file location before continuing.

Organizing Notes

How do I move notes into a folder?

Open Folders to create the folder you need. Then press and hold a note, select any other notes you want to move, tap the move action, and choose the destination folder.

How do I pin, sort, or filter notes?

Tap the pin on a note card to keep it near the top. On Notes, open the three-dot menu and choose Filter and sort to select a date range or sorting order. In Settings > Appearance, you can choose List or Grid and decide whether note previews show only the title or also a snippet.

How does the Recycle Bin work?

Swipe a note from left to right and confirm that you want to move it. Krypnotes then offers Undo briefly and keeps the note in the Recycle Bin. Go to Settings > Data & Backup > Recycle Bin to restore it or delete it permanently.

Desktop Pairing

What does Desktop Pairing do?

Desktop Pairing lets you temporarily view and edit your regular notes in one web browser on another device while Krypnotes is open and active. Both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Locking the mobile device or leaving Krypnotes pauses desktop access. Notes marked as Protected are left out.

How do I start Desktop Pairing?

Go to Settings > Desktop Pairing > Pair Desktop and tap Start Local Session. Choose Code, QR, or Link; these are three alternatives, so you only need one. Unused connection details expire after five minutes, and you can start a new session to generate fresh details.

Method 1 — How do I connect with the address and code?

On the device you want to pair, open a browser and type the complete Desktop address shown in Krypnotes, including the numbers after the colon. When the page opens, enter the six-digit Pairing code and tap Connect below the code box.

Method 2 — How do I connect with the QR code?

This is usually the easiest method for another phone or tablet, and it also works on a laptop that can scan QR codes. On the device you want to pair, open its camera or QR scanner, scan the QR code shown in Krypnotes, and open the suggested link. There is no need to type the address or code.

Method 3 — How do I connect with Copy Link?

Select Link, tap Copy Link, and send it to your target device using your own email, WhatsApp, messages, or another trusted method. Open it on that device within five minutes. Send it only to yourself or to a device you trust.

Where is the notes list on a phone or tablet browser?

Tap the notes-list or menu button in the browser companion to open all notes. Tap a note to open it. If the screen feels crowded, rotate the device to landscape.

How do I create, edit, or delete notes in the paired browser?

If there are no notes, choose Add New Note. Titles can contain up to 50 characters. Use Save to send title or body changes to the phone. Copy is available when the note contains text, and Cut becomes available after you select body text. Delete moves the note to the mobile Recycle Bin; moving a note to the Recycle Bin or protecting it on mobile also removes it from the desktop list.

How do I finish or continue a pairing session?

Tap End Session in Krypnotes or end the session from the browser. Desktop access pauses whenever the mobile device is locked or Krypnotes is not active. Unlock the device and reopen Krypnotes to continue automatically in the already paired browser; no new code is needed. If Krypnotes remains inactive, the session ends after 25 minutes. If continuation fails, keep Krypnotes open, confirm both devices use the same Wi-Fi, and choose Try again in the browser. On iPhone or iPad, also allow Krypnotes under Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.

Backup, Restore, and Export

How do I create a backup?

Go to Settings > Data & Backup > Create Encrypted Backup. Create and confirm a backup password, then choose whether to save or share the .kryp file. A backup contains active notes and folders, including protected notes. It does not contain tasks, reminders, app settings, or notes already in the Recycle Bin. Keep the file and its password somewhere safe.

How do I restore a backup?

Go to Settings > Data & Backup > Restore from Backup, choose the .kryp file, and enter the password used when that backup was created. Krypnotes adds the restored active notes and folders without replacing your whole notebook.

Will restoring create duplicate notes?

Krypnotes skips a note when the same title and content already exist. If it finds a different note using the same internal identity, it adds the restored copy as a new note so your current note is not silently replaced.

What is the difference between Backup and Export?

Use Backup when you want a file that can restore Krypnotes later. Use Export when you want readable TXT, Markdown, or PDF files for viewing in other apps. Store exported files carefully, especially when they contain private information.

Do backup and restore need internet?

No. Krypnotes creates and opens backup files on your device. The app or storage service you choose for sending or saving the file may use internet.

Help and Troubleshooting

Why did I see a privacy or security update after upgrading?

When important information changes, existing users see a short explanation of only the new points and agree once. Someone installing Krypnotes for the first time sees the complete current welcome and Terms instead.

Why is Krypnotes asking for permission?

A permission appears when a feature needs it—for example microphone access for voice typing, notifications and alarms for reminders, local-network access for pairing, device unlock for protection, or file access for backup and export. You can cancel if you do not want to use that feature.

How can I contact support?

Go to Settings > General > Contact & Support. Choose email for a detailed problem, Telegram for a quick question, or the website contact form. Include the app version and clear steps to reproduce the issue, but never send your backup password. You can also email krypnotesteam@gmail.com.

Where can I find other Krypzon products?

Go to Settings > General > About Krypnotes and open Developed By - Krypzon. Available products link to their official sites, while products still in development open an overview page.
