Terms and Conditions

These Terms govern the Krypnotes mobile application operated by Krypzon. By accepting them or using Krypnotes, you agree to them.

1. The Service

Krypnotes is an offline-first notes and tasks application with local storage, rich editing, folders, reminders, access controls, encrypted backup files, readable exports, and optional local-network browser pairing. It does not require an account or provide cloud storage for notes.

2. Local Data and Data Loss

Your content is primarily stored in app-private storage. You are responsible for your device and usable backups. Uninstalling, clearing app data, permanent deletion, device loss, operating-system failures, or corrupted files may cause data loss that Krypzon cannot reverse.

3. App Protection and Protected Notes

These features use device authentication as access controls. Protected-note content is not separately encrypted by a Master Passphrase. Anyone who can satisfy the relevant device/app authentication may be able to view it. You must decide whether this model is suitable for your content and obligations.

4. Encrypted Backups

Each encrypted .kryp backup contains active notes and folders, including protected notes, and uses the password you choose for that file. Backups do not include tasks, reminders, app settings, or notes already in the Recycle Bin. Krypzon does not receive, store, reset, or recover the password. Restoring requires the exact password used to create that backup, including older backups.

5. Desktop Pairing

Desktop Pairing starts a temporary local server and synchronizes non-protected notes directly with one paired browser. Protected notes are excluded. Unused credentials expire after five minutes. Desktop access pauses whenever the mobile device is locked or Krypnotes is not active. The already paired browser can resume without a new code after the device is unlocked and Krypnotes is reopened; an inactive session ends after 25 minutes. Pair only on trusted networks and devices, keep temporary credentials private, review browser edits, and end the session when finished.

6. Dictation and Permissions

Dictation uses your device platform's speech-recognition service and may be processed on-device or by that provider. Krypzon does not receive or store audio or transcription through this feature. Device permissions are requested for related user-facing functions.

7. External Copies and Third Parties

Copy, paste, share, print, export, file, and support actions can move information outside Krypnotes. TXT, Markdown, and PDF exports are readable and are not protected by a backup password. A protected note does not remain protected after its content is copied, shared, printed, or exported. Third-party destinations apply their own terms.

8. Updates and Network Requests

Krypnotes may retrieve an app-update policy from Krypzon-hosted infrastructure. The request does not contain note content; routine request metadata may be processed for delivery, security, and operational logs.

9. Acceptable Use

You must not use Krypnotes for unlawful activity, to infringe others' rights, or to interfere with devices, networks, or the Service. You are responsible for your content and legal compliance.

10. No Professional Advice

Krypnotes is a general-purpose productivity app, not legal, medical, financial, compliance, records-management, or cybersecurity advice, and is not certified to meet a specific regulatory standard.

11. "AS IS" Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Krypnotes is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties. Krypzon is not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages or for loss of data, profits, business, or opportunity. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Changes to Terms

New installations accept the complete current Terms during first-time setup. Existing installations may be asked to review only material changes introduced by a newer terms version. The complete Terms remain available in the app and here.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to mandatory rights and laws applicable in your jurisdiction.
